Moderation Policies

Mobilized Investigation, 22.01.2003 10:31

Brief overview of the submission, review, and moderation policies of this site.

In principle, we want to keep this site as open as possible.
To this end, all announcements, papers, and directory entries posted to the site(using the links under "Resources" in the left column) will immediately appear in the appropriate section of the site as well as in the middle column.

We would like to encourage the posting of sustained pieces of research, analysis, and critique to the site, as well as announcements relevant to a community or network of individuals concerned with the production of such knowledges. We also want to maintain a directory of the individuals and projects which make up this community/network. We do not want to provide a general discussion board or news-site, there are more than enough of these already in existence; this is why we have decided to limit submissions to the three types of information mentioned above.

If a submission obviously does not fall within these loose guidelines, or is obviously innapropriate, we reserve the right to remove it, although we intend to keep the editorial process transparent by providing a means of reviewing the removed articles. A less strict forum for discssion through the posting of short (or long) comments will follow each article.

Of course this is only our best guess at what policy would make this site useful, and is entirely open to discussion on the Mobilized Investigation mailing list, which is open and can be accessed at  http://manifestor.org/mailman/listinfo/mi .

Also, we expect that anyone interested in contributing to social transformation
through intellectual labor has the good sense to recognize the institution of copyright as reactionary and a barrier to the free exchange and production of information.
